Members of OneLUG made these three beautiful and articulate mosaics that were displayed at an art show recently. The White Tree of Gondor was built by Brandon Griffith. The Horse of Rohan was built by Remi Gagné. The White Hand of Saruman was built by Bruce Lowell.
Not only are they great, simple designs, but the borders around them are also constructed really nicely. (The White Hand border is superb.)

It's a Mosaic! It's a Sculpture! No, it's....
...a bas-relief image of Super Man!

Super Man is partly a sculpture bursting out of a more traditional mosaic. This can be seen more clearly in this image:
