El Che

Steve5010 made this mosaic of Ernesto "Che" Guevara.

Che Guara

I really like how the white bricks are slightly discolored (and maybe a bit dirty?) in different measures, and it really gives the face some additional texture.

SNOT Magic

I'm still super-preoccupied with the MocAthalon, so posts will be sparse this month, but I did see this cute mosaic from Legoland Florida.  The person who posted this on flickr called it a "grammatical error", which I can understand, but I suppose it is supposed to be an in-joke about SNOT, or "Studs Not On Top", a technique very clearly used in the sign (I spy cheese slopes!).  In that case, it probably would have been better to have it say, "It's SNOT magic."

It Snot Magic!

Either way, I still really like the image of the magician and his magic sparkles.  It's also neat how the mosaic is on a curve, and is not flat like mosaics normally are.  There are some other cute mosaics spread around the rest of the photo, too.

Persian Carpet

I've been building for the MocAthalon at MOCpages, and will probably be neglecting this blog terribly for the entire month of March.  But here is a Persian carpet I made using cheese slopes, tiles, and plates.  I think it turned out all right:

Let the Games Begin

Dave Kaleta (davekaleta) made this vignette for the MocAthalon being held over at MOCpages.  The player is Patrick Kaleta, who also shares a love for LEGO

This model sports several clever mosaics that enhance the overall presentation.

Dave has set the standard high for this year's competition.  As an aside, I'm on a MocAtahalon team this year, too.  I see my team has our work cut out for us, if we want to compete with MOCs like this.

A Clever Fish

Showing once again that mosaics can be made from all sorts of different LEGO pieces, Tyler Clites (Legohaulic) gives us this fish:

Fish Mosaic

How perfect is that?  I rather think it would make a good decoration for a bathroom, perhaps for this one Tyler made a few days ago.
